Bekah York serves in Bogotá with the Seminario Bíblico Menonita de Colombia (Mennonite Biblical Seminary of Colombia--SBMC) to prepare young leaders as well as provide continuing education opportunities for seasoned leaders in the churches. In her role, she accompanies the broad work of the seminary, including support for the tree-year degree program in Biblical and Theological Studies offered by SBMC and preparing classes on peace studies and theological reflection.
Democratic Republic of the Congo
Silverwood has a long history with the Congo, partnering with the Mennonite Church to establish churches and ministries throughout the country. Many of the former, retired missionaries, have made Silverwood their home church. Our work in the Congo continues through Africa Inter-Mennonite Mission. Currently, Charles Buller of Silverwood is leading a network of Mennonite pastors in the Congo who are working intentionally at leadership development.
