We are grateful for the generosity of this congregation and our partners who help to make the ministries of Silverwood possible. Together we can do great things!

Silverwood Ministry Fund

The Silverwood Ministry Fund helps us to move our congregational mission and vision from ideas to action. Ministry in our church, in our community, and in our world is made possible by the generous giving of our congregation. We use the funds given to the church to empower staff and volunteers to foster community and Christlikeness, to build relationships of mutual flourishing in our community, and to maintain the facilities and grounds that we and our partners use to do these things.

At Silverwood, we strive to balance generosity, stewardship, excellence, and simplicity when it comes to the way we use our funds. The congregation is convened twice a year to review the budget (also known as the Silverwood Ministry Fund), to hear stories of how the budget is supporting the ministries of the church, and to ensure transparent and open communication.

In addition to the Silverwood Ministry Fund, we have a few designated funds that support the ministries at Silverwood.

The Good Samaritan Fund allows us to extend financial and material support to those outside of our church community, especially with groceries, utility payments, and rental assistance. The Benevolence Fund is used to help persons within the church community who need financial or material assistance. The Legal Aid Fund was recently created to partner with individuals and families who are navigating the difficult and expensive immigration system.

All gifts made to the church are kept confidential and will receive a tax-receipt when eligible.

How to Give

Giving to the Silverwood Ministry Fund or one of the other funds above can be done in a variety of ways.

Cash and Checks

During our worship services, an offering is collected in which people can give cash or checks. Any items without designation will be included in the Silverwood Ministry Fund. Checks can also be mailed to the church, see address at the bottom on the page.

Online Banking Bill Pay

Using your bank's online bill payment option, you can set up Silverwood Mennonite Church as a payee. This allows you to do one time donations or set up a recurring donation (weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.) at no cost to you or the church. Simply sign in to your online banking, go to the bill payment section, and fill in the relevant information (typically this is the address and phone number, see bottom of the page). Select the frequency and the start date, if setting up a recurring gift, and type the amount. A check will be mailed to the church from your bank.

PayPal

Use this link to make a one-time donation or to set up recurring donations. This does not require a PayPal account and allows you to use a credit or debit card to make your gift. If you want to designate the funds to a specific ministry or event, put that in the note section provided. There is a small fee paid by the church for this method, which is nominal, so if possible we recommend setting up the bill pay option above for recurring gifts.
