Everyone is invited to hear Robert’s incredible story. We extend a special invitation to those who do not regularly attend Sunday School at Silverwood.
Living the Good News Together
—NW Fellowship Hall: In texts from Mark, Jesus emphasizes themes of seeing, hearing, and understanding. He brings sight to the physically blind while mourning the spiritual blindness of his followers and critics. In the last five sessions we return to the book of Acts in the story of Paul and the early church.
Creation Care: Keeper’s of the Earth
—Room behind the Library: Any way you look at it, the environment and how we live in it is a complicated topic. One reason is due to the interconnectedness of all things. It’s much like a spider web—when you touch a single strand at one edge of the web, it creates movement in the strands on the other side that may at first seem disconnected. Our study will help you look at the environment in a new way. Being green may not be easy, but perhaps you’ll find it’s what you want to be.
New Creation in Christ
—Room 19: This quarter we explore the creative nature of Christ as it affects human life and the implication of Christ’s life for the world in which we live. (Ezekiel, Luke, Acts, Ephesians.)
Anabaptists: Where did we come from and where shall we go
?—SW Fellowship Hall: During this class we will look at who the early Anabaptists were and what was distinctive about them. We will examine the concerns that set them apart from the other groups that emerged during the Reformation (early 1500’s). We will also note the emphases that gave them their character. As we proceed in the class we will ask what this means for our faith today. What is important? What have we lost or downplayed? What concerns need to be updated and refocused in the 21st Century?
