Patient Advocate: The Center for Healing and Hopewill have an opening for the Patient Advocate at the GoshenCenter beginning in May. The Patient Advocate meets with Clinic patients to conduct needs assessment and assists patients to secure needed services. This is a full-time paid position. Applicants must be fluent in English and Spanish and understand the importance of servicing the whole person when relating to patients. College degree preferred. This is Menno-Hof's second event in 2010 emphasizing believer's baptism in the 485th anniversary year of the first Anabaptist baptisms. 'The Radicals' will be shown on Saturday and Sunday, March 20 and 21 at 7:00 p.m. at Menno-Hof. This story of early Anabaptists Michael and Margaretha Sattler, will cause viewers to stop and think how much their faith really means to them. A Hacienda Day will be held Monday, March 8 to benefit BethanyChristianSchools. Hacienda will donate 20% of purchases for food, gift certificates, and carryouts all that day with presentation of a token. Tokens may NOT be distributed inside or outside the restaurant that day. March 1, at 7:30 p.m., the second ecumenical Lenten Centering Prayer service takes place in Koinonia Room of College Mennonite Church. It begins promptly and last about a half hour, followed by a teaching via CD teaching by James Finley, author and retreat leader on Christian Meditation. Our time together will end around 8:45 p.m.
Goshen College Music Center is offering Music Together® classes in many area locations for children from birth to age 7, along with their parent or caregiver. Goshen Middle School is hosting John Halligan for a public presentation on bullying and cyber bullying, Monday, March 22, 7:30 pm in the auditorium. Halligan's compelling presentation grows out of losing his 13-year-old son Ryan to suicide in 2003 after repeated bullying. Parents and others interested are encouraged to attend.
Sister-Care Seminar – May 14 & 15: This two-day seminar at KidronMennoniteChurch, Kidron, Ohio, includes biblical and skills training for effective lay caring in the congregation. This Sister-Care weekend has been planned by our conference Mennonite Women leadership. It will explore ways that women can continue to hear each other and nurture their life in Christ. Registration fee is $35 and includes in-home lodging (if needed) Friday night, a continental breakfast, lunch on Saturday, and a training manual. Registration deadline is April 30.
