Church administration is spiritual service to the Body of Christ which involves the wise stewardship of God's resources for the accomplishment of the work of ministry.
Paying attention to administrative tasks helps make the work of other ministries function more smoothly, and enhances the effectiveness of those whose gifts are exercised in more public settings.
We allow other commissions to focus on ministry, not on administrative functions.
We seek to be a resource to all commissions by supporting their ministries through providing ideas and taking care of the details.
Administrative areas include:
Finance
We oversee the financial and accounting aspects of the church. We seek to move toward a comprehensive budget instead of relying on numerous fund raisers.
Facilities
We seek to honor God with the physical property He has entrusted to us.The church building should serve the congregation and the community. We need to maintain it so that it retains its value and so that it may continue to be used.
Personnel Policies
Management goals are served by having biblically consistent policies and procedures in writing and available for reference.Policies and procedures that give direction and define 'how-to' for ministry are desirable because of efficiency, through clarifying expectations, and by helping keep biblical goals clearly in view.
Communication and Public Relations
Communicate our work to the congregation and beyond on a consistent basis. We should employ different methods to ensure that everyone receives the message, with the understanding that the congregation has the responsibility to seek information as well.
Information Technology
Assist the staff with maintenance of computers, software, networks, web site, etc. while recognizing that a technology solution is not always the answer to a problem.
Record Keeping
We value keeping good centralized records in the areas of finance, attendance, membership, etc.
